UDAWALAWE

Udawalawe National Park Safari

Udawalawe National Park is situated on the border of the Sabaragamuwa and Uwa provinces in Sri Lanka. One of its distinctive features is the coexistence of both wet and dry zones within the same area.Covering an expanse of 30,821 hectares, the landscape varies from flat plains to rocky outcrops, and the vegetation encompasses open parklands, grasslands, and scattered jungles.

The presence of waterholes, marshes, and streams stemming from the Walawe River sustains a diverse array of animals and birds that call this land home. Notably, Udawalawe National Park boasts the highest concentration of elephants in the country, affording visitors the opportunity to witness herds of these magnificent creatures up close as they roam the expansive plains.
